News paper clipping with a headline about a ghost hunting a woman who found a mirror

The Pitch:
This is a completely harmless and totally normal fun  game. It’s not like this game is haunted.  Your goal is to light the way for Mother Grimm by choosing the correct lyrics to a modified nursery song.  You have limited attempts and many endings. Good Luck.

The Reality:
I really wanted to make a simple game (10-30 min play through to get all seven? endings) to test out what I knew as a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ so to speak. Two previous attempts at designing a simple game ended up on the back burner – they ended up not being small or simple. I finally thought of a fun idea that was short enough to be entertaining, but hopefully enjoyable enough to be remembered. And once again, it’s totally not haunted.

LOCAL TEEN CLAIMS VIRAL GAME "FOLLOWED HER HOME

MAPLE RIDGE, OR — A local high school student says she is no longer sleeping after playing a recently viral indie horror game based on an old lullaby.

The game, shared through private messaging apps and video platforms, asks players to sing along with a melody while choosing the correct lyrics. According to the teen, strange events began less than 24 hours after completing the game.

“I kept seeing a woman standing in the hallway,” she said. “At first I thought it was sleep paralysis. Then my security camera caught someone standing outside my bedroom door.”

Police responding to the residence found no evidence of forced entry. The security footage reportedly became corrupted shortly after being reviewed.

Online, dozens of players have posted nearly identical accounts describing an unnamed woman watching them from doorways, mirrors, and the edges of security camera footage. Several of the videos have since disappeared.

Authorities have dismissed any connection between the game and the reported incidents, calling the claims “an internet-fueled urban legend.” Still, downloads of the game continue to rise.

CONTENT CREATORS DELETE VIDEOS AFTER REPORTING "UNEXPLAINED VISITOR"

SUPPER, CA —A growing number of streamers are removing videos featuring the viral horror game ‘Light The Way’ after claiming they experienced disturbing events during or after recording.

Three creators independently reported hearing a woman humming the game’s melody long after ending their broadcasts. One creator abruptly ended a live-stream after repeatedly asking someone off-camera to “stop standing behind me.”

Viewers insisted no one appeared on screen. Within hours, the creator deleted every upload from the channel without explanation.

Discussion forums tracking the game have documented hundreds of similar stories. Many players claim the haunting doesn’t begin until they recommend the game to someone else.

“It’s almost like sharing it is part of the rules,” one anonymous poster wrote.

No evidence has been found supporting supernatural claims, though the game’s origins remain unknown. No developer has publicly taken credit for its creation.

Participants Claim Mirror Ritual Inspired by Viral Game Ends in "Impossible Pull"

BARTONVILLE, KY — Emergency responders say three college students were treated for minor injuries after performing a ritual they found hidden inside a viral horror game.

According to the students, the challenge instructed players to stand before a mirror at midnight, sing an old lullaby, and avoid looking away until the song ended.

“It felt like gravity changed,” one participant told reporters. “My hands were on the sink, but something was pulling my reflection backward. Then it felt like it wanted me to follow.”

Neighbors reported hearing screams shortly after midnight.

Investigators found a shattered bathroom mirror and deep scratch marks around the sink. Officials say there is no evidence of anything supernatural, suggesting panic may have contributed to the incident.

Online, however, players insist the “Mirror Ending” is not actually part of the game.

“It’s something the woman teaches you after you finish,” one anonymous user wrote before deleting the post.

DIGITAL FORENSICS EXPERTS BAFFLED BY IDENTICAL FIGURE APPEARING IN PLAYER VIDEOS

ANGELTON, MT —Researchers analyzing footage from players of the increasingly controversial horror game have discovered an unsettling pattern.

Across dozens of unrelated recordings, investigators noted the repeated appearance of what appears to be the same unidentified woman. She never interacts with players. She simply watches.

In some recordings she is visible for only a single frame. In others, she can be seen standing motionless in reflections or darkened doorways. Image analysis found no signs that the footage had been digitally altered.

Even more unusual, players insist they never saw the figure while recording.

“The videos contain details the players themselves weren’t aware of until afterward,” one digital media analyst explained.

The game has been removed from several file-sharing sites, only to reappear under different filenames within hours.

Communities dedicated to archiving the phenomenon are urging people not to finish the game —or, if they do, not to share the game with anyone else.

“If the stories are true,” one moderator warned, “you just need to play the game once to be haunted.”

Fire Department Warns Against Recreating Horror Game Challenge After Viral Videos

SAN MARCOS, TX —Fire officials are urging people not to imitate a ritual circulating online that claims to unlock a “hidden level” in a mysterious indie horror game.

The challenge involves dimming the lights, placing a candle before a mirror, and singing the game’s lullaby without interruption.

Several participants have since posted videos claiming they nearly fell into the mirror despite standing several feet away.

“The glass looked like a pathway,” one creator said. “When I leaned closer, it leaned toward me.”

Experts reviewing the footage have found no evidence supporting paranormal explanations. Most videos end abruptly as participants flee the room, leaving viewers to speculate what frightened them.

The original uploads have largely vanished, fueling rumors that those who complete the ritual remove the videos themselves.

Reports continue to surface from players attempting an unofficial ritual connected to the viral lullaby game. While details vary, nearly every account describes the same sequence.

First, the participant notices their reflection is slightly delayed. Then, the woman appears somewhere behind them. Finally, the reflection reaches toward the glass.

“I knew my body wasn’t moving,” one anonymous poster wrote. “But the person in the mirror grabbed the frame like she was trying to climb out while pulling me in.”

Psychologists suggest expectation, darkness, and heightened anxiety can produce vivid experiences that feel completely real.

Authorities Investigating String of Unusual Calls Linked to Viral 'Mother Grimm's Arrival'

LAVEND, NY —Emergency dispatch centers in three states have reported receiving several nearly identical late-night calls over the past month, all connected to an online ritual inspired by a viral horror game based on an old lullaby.

According to dispatch records, callers often begin by whispering that “someone else is in the mirror.”

In each case, the line remains open for several minutes after the caller stops speaking. Responding officers have consistently found the homes empty or occupied by individuals unwilling to discuss what happened.

One responding officer, speaking anonymously, described an unsettling similarity between the scenes.

“It wasn’t anything you could point to as evidence,” they said. “Just… every mirror in the house had been covered before we got there.”

Officials continue to discourage participation in online occult challenges, citing the effects of suggestion, fear, and viral misinformation.

Despite this, discussion surrounding the ritual continues to spread, with many participants insisting there is one unwritten rule absent from every copy of the instructions.
